On May 9, 2025, the "NCMS’ Young Talents Pilot Workstation" hosted the third session of the 2025 "Xin Manjing NCMS Forum—Youth Academic Salon." The theme of this lecture was "Piezoelectric Effect-Based Power Generation Technology from Road Traffic Loads and Its Applications," delivered by Associate Professor Hailu Yang and moderated by Xin Long, Director of the Center's Scientific Research Management Department. During the lecture, Hailu Yang introduced the background, significance, and research outcomes of piezoelectric effect-based power generation technology from road traffic loads and its applications, contextualizing it within China's current road traffic conditions and challenges.
Hailu Yang, an Associate Professor in the National Center for Materials Service Safety (NCMS) at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. His research areas include Pavement Engineering, Energy Harvesting, Transportation Sensing Technology. He is now working on the Group of Sustainable & Smart Road in NCMS and responsible for developing new self-sensing technology for pavement. He has published over 50 papers. His research achievements have been piloted on several national and provincial highways, such as the Mazhao Expressway, and earned him the 2022 Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (Third Prize) and the 2020 China Highway and Transportation Society Science and Technology Award (First Prize).
